The Social Uplift Foundation is embarked on a project to increase awaresness and use of Nonviolence Principles and Methods.
The specific operating goal is:
To promote the comprehension and use of nonviolent methodology to bring about social improvement.
Nonviolence is generally understood to mean forcing a social change in the face of oppressive resistance without using violence or causing physical harm to individuals.
What we hope to achieve in our project is to broaden the understanding and use of the successful principles and methods of nonviolence that have developed over the last 100 years. We want to take the books off the shelf and present these ideas in a more understandable way, to foster their use in society at all levels.
Our goals are:
Nonviolence Principles and Methods being taught, to some degree, at all levels of education from 5th through 12th grade.
Nonviolence Methods being used to resolve conflicts and promote social improvement at local, state, county and federal levels.
Our major approach in this program will be
Creating and distributing educational material that encourages understaning and use of the Principles of Nonviolence and use of Nonviolence Methods.
Public and recorded events to raise public awares of the subject.
Educational videos distriuted and viewed promoting and defining the subject.
Film and theatrical presentations disseminating the subject.
