    Statement:

    My name is Rob Macon. I've been volunteering at KPFK for over 10 years. I reported the KPFK 6 O'clock News from local election results, paying higher gas and water bill, local prisons, etc. I was on the KPFK Outreach Committee, developed a project entitled "MISSION: Rebuild 2025. I currently serve on th KPFK LSB Fundraising Committee. We've had our first meeting with the General Manager. We are excited about raising funds for KPFK. We need more time to complete our mission to raise money for the station. That's why I'm asking for your vote. Thank You!

    1. What experience, connections, skills or traits would you bring to the local station board to advance the station's mission?
     

    The experience I would bring the board is my marketing skills, promotional skills, fundraising skills, the ability to increase the audience and help develop new programming.

     

    2. What do you appreciate and value in the station's current operations?
     

    I appreciate the fact that the KPFK has been around over 60 years. Helping the communities, creating opportunities to learn broadcasting.

     

    3. What would you like to see improved or changed in the station's current operations?
     

    I would like to see improved at the station is better programming, less fund drives, more community involvement and upgrade its operation.

     

    4. Describe what you anticipate would be your top three priorities or areas of focus if you were elected to the local station board.
     

    My three top priorities would be to raise funds, improve the programming and get involved with the community.

     

    5. Sustainability is an important part of any nonprofit operation. What are your thoughts on how the board can help to improve the station's financial footing?
     

    As I mentioned, I serve on the fundraising committee. I would improve the relationship with those million dollar donors who look for stations like KPFK, who is helping the communities, partnership with other organizations and develop our own fundraising plans

     

    6. Is there anything else you would like prospective voters to know?
      I'm on the KPFK LSB Fundraising Committee. I have experience raising funds for non-profit organizations. I'd like to take my skills and build great wealth for KPFK. But I need more time. I ask for your vote. Thank you!
