Hey brothers & sisters ! I’m Steve Kaiser running for another term on the KPFK LSB. I have served for the last three years on the LSB, but I’m not done yet. I’m still concerned about the future viability of Pacifica as it teeters on the edge of bankruptcy. Initially I was a Pollyannaish outsider, but after three years with many great servants of Pacifica, I am re-inspired to keep my eyes on the prize of sustainability.

We need to bring in better programming, so contributors feel like they are getting a diverse point of view worth paying for. The competition dabbles in their niche truths, but Pacifica remains the beacon of truth in a world sorrowfully devoid of it.

We’re producing logical discussions of relevant topics instead of a pompous pontification on what people should be thinking. Instead of pre-digested thought ready for mass consumption, we invite our community to join the discussion and develop their own awareness that resonates with their authentic selves. The 99 % are depending on us to help identify what will create the more livable world we all need.

We need to concentrate on programs that produce income by promoting & hosting major meetings with dedicated investigators, and hopefully duplicating our recent successes with Oliver Stone, Chris Hedges & Greg Palast. We support their efforts with sales of their books, DVD’s and other items that are part of their work, and we share in the proceeds. There are hundreds of such visionaries needing exposure and marketing, and we have an audience enriched by these expertness and eager to broaden their knowledge.

We must approach affluent supporters to get the substantial funds we need to retire our debts. I would be part of a task force that identifies prosperous donors and tastefully solicits their generosity. Perhaps we could even offer them legacy programming enabling them to continue supporting our mission but with their own spin on the agenda even after they have gone on to their reward.

With BA’s in English & Comparative Literature, my prime focus is on how language illuminates & distorts the truth. I have been involved with authentic, alternative information since high school, and with local groups intent on sorting fact from fiction and on understanding what is really going on in the world today.

As a financial professional for over 40 years, I have been contributing an analytical perspective to fund-raising & financial management at KPFK. By trade, I am a CPA tax accountant & a CFP financial planner with an MBA in finance. I am a former UAW auto-worker from Indiana and a member of the Green Party as well as a Buddhist and an astrologer.

I hope you find me to be the kind of homey that you'd like to see remain on the LSB. I assure you that I would continue to be a voice that has no time or energy for infighting, posturing or bickering.
