    With over forty-one years with my own weekly program on the radio and over fifty years as
    being a guest expert on other shows, I am committed to radio as a medium of communications. I
    also supports listener-sponsored radio and wants to see KPFK revitalized to better represent the
    community and to have quality programs.

    In the late ·50's and early ·90s I co-hosted on KPFK, Planet Health and Feminist Magazine
    Radio. My Environmental Directions series starting on KWEST, then KMAGIC, and then 17
    years on Power 106, and now on KBPK as well as other stations nation-wide. It is the longest
    running program on the environment with over 2100 shows produced to date. I have also
    produced and hosted over 600 documentaries for my three-time EMMY nominated series
    ECONEWS which air in 19 million homes.

    I am an environmentalist, feminist, anthropologist, ethnic world dance performer,
    outdoors woman and politician. I am recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme
    as a Global 500 Laureate and have been honored with other awards. I served four terms (16
    years) as an elected official as Trustee for the Los Angeles Community College District. I have
    served on numerous advisory councils and boards of directors for non-profit organizations. I am
    currently the Executive Director for Educational Communications.
    In addition to the above positions I am also an ecotourism specialist, sustainability consultant,
    lecturer, teacher, broadcast producer, trainer and media host.

    I am a former world-class athlete ranking in the top five in the world in the fifty-miler, top one
    hundred in the U.S. in the marathon, and at age 65 climbed the highest peak in Africa, Mt.
    Kilimanjaro at 19, 336 feet.

    Since serving as coordinator of the first Earth Day in southern California in 1970, I have
    dedicated my life to making this planet better for all life. I have worked on many social causes,
    anti-war events, humanitarian projects especially in East Africa, and civil rights issues.
    As a dedicated activist, I will work hard to make sure KPFK remains an outstanding station. I
